Haven’t been able to find one so I figured I’d make it. Getting close to that time of year and can’t wait! What are y’all doing to get ready and how are you feeling about the upcoming season?

I go through all my shite about twice a week to make sure I got everything and go check my cameras every 4-5 days because I want to see the transition lean towards day time so I don’t frick em up when I come check cameras. Still yet to get some arrows refletched. Just been practicing with a couple missing a feather

I've been walking a mile or two with my lock on every day in my bow hunting boots. The folks in the area already thought i was nuts before that and now they don't know wtf to think

I'm so behind this year... I haven't even taken my bow out of the case yet.

My lease has been trimmed up and I sprayed the box blinds for the kids but I haven't set up any of my hangons yet.

I'll probably pull the camper up there next weekend and maybe do some scouting on some public land I plan to hunt in October.

Studying maps, specifically LIDAR on Sonris. Marking the deer sightings, crossings, and trails I saw last year. Trying to figure out if I need to move, come in a different way, etc.

Need to get out and clear a few stands. I haven't hung any cams yet. Where I hunt once they cut rice patterns change and once they cut beans they change again so I'm trying to quit analyzing patterns that will change the first week of season. Just going to go by where I traditionally see them early season. Need to be practicing more at 40 yards with this new bow. Just re-fletched a dozen arrows still need to do another 9 or so.

I've scouted all of my areas. Prepped 4 trees and have my blind set up on private. I'm done. Just keep shooting and waiting for opening day.

Planning on putting up a camera and rehanging a stand where I had a lot of buck activity last year. Gonna take my almost 2 year old (born in October) with me Saturday. He has no idea what his birthday did to my season the last two years.

Last year, literally during his birthday party, there were two shooters standing 20 yards from a ground blind that I had set up. 10 point and an 8. Probably 130" on the 10 point and pushing it with the 8.

I love the shite out of that little boy, though. Hoping we can spend the majority of his birthdays in the woods from here on out. Can't wait for those.

Hung my primary stand yesterday. Have 2 stands and 2 different 10's on camera. Been shooting my bow in anticipation.

Think I'm gonna try a new tactic this year. Only gonna make evening hunts. That seems to be when I'm getting the most day time pics. Hunting these mature bucks, I'd hate to bust a deer out before daylight on the first morning and ruin it

Stands are hung. Cameras have been out since July. Got the elite dialed in. My season starts this Saturday (Minnesota). I have an old buddy from my ship flying in Thursday from NYC. This will be his first time bow hunting. Can't wait!

I wouldn't worry about ruining it. Try and get as close to that deer(if he's bedded down) as possible and set up. That's the strategy I'm using this year. Buck bedding. I'd rather get close and bump him with the likely hood of him returning and knowing for sure where he's at than being too cautious and never seeing him. Get aggressive.

Busted the D Loop shooting my bow yesterday and lost an arrow 200 yards into the corn.

Taking it as a sign to get it restrung. The wait is killing me.

I haven’t hunted in 5 years. Life gets in the way.

Got the bow restrung, been shooting, bought all new Camo because my old stuff didn’t fit (in the good way)

Been scouting a few WMAs without a lot of luck. I’ve never had a lot of success and am trying something different. Any tips on WMA? Seems like the SELA WMA roster is tough to hunt.

Depends on where you are located and how far you are willing to go. SW Louisiana has a couple that had fairly good success rates due to low pressure. Louisiana sportsman usually puts out a harvest report on WMA that includes a hunter/harvest ratio.

Yeah I read this years. Maurepas is the one they talk about but that’s rough going unless you’ve got waders and a boat.

Went up to Hutchinson Creek this past weekend and it’s got potential but i really didn’t see any signs. It Looks like there should be deer there, if that makes sense.
