Looking for a place/person to bring my dad’s boat to to have it rewired. It’s 2006 20’ aluminum cc hull. It’s all easy to get to I just don’t have the time. Willing to drive 2 hours from New Orleans. TIA

I think Tri-Parish Fiberglass in Folsom may do this kind of thing.

My buddy is an electrical engineer for chevron and does this on the side. He’s in Covington. Shoot me an email and I’ll send you his info he’s with Pellegrini Marine Electric.

LA Boat Worx in Thibodaux… I had them rewire my entire 24’ a few years ago and they did a great job. Went from constant electrical problems to none at all. Everything neatly tied down and shrink wrap labeled. Can’t recommend highly enough. My boat is actually the rewiring example photo on the site… LINK

What did it cost you? Trying to figure out where I’ll be at.

Just finished rewiring a classic Boston Whaler. Took a whole lot longer and more work than I anticipated. My only word of advice is do it clean and be through on your terminals. I found it I be a fun project.

I don’t know what electronics you have, mine was 2500 for a 20 foot Allison. But I don’t have a ton of stuff on it.

Whoever it was, I'd make sure that they knew that I knew(whether I really did or not) ABYC e7 rules and see how they react. Its one thing to make it pretty, it's another to do it pretty AND safe. Electrical fires are the biggest threat to most boats out there IMO.

You’re absolutely right about this. I’m an ABYC technical advisor and it’s amusing to look at Instagram photos of people showing off nice tidy looking wiring where they have way way too many high amperage conductors all bundled and zip tied together with no drip loops.

thanks baw, but it’s gonna be a while before I take on any more work. Once we finish up this contender Im spending every fishable weekend in the gulf Plus I already have 5-6 more people queued up when I get spare time.

I’ve seen some things that make me surprised more boats don’t blow up or catch on fire though. You’d also be surprised at how shitty some new from the factory boats are rigged. The wiring on the brand new nautic star we got in 2015 was absolute trash.

I have a 2016 nautic star and can verify this lol. It’s one thing that separates a good manufacturer and dealership from a mediocre one.

I had Magnum Outboards (Marrero I think) do mine about 10 years ago. Bought an old Wellcraft hull and rewired from scratch. They did great work.

Honestly this is really the only/best way to do it in most cases.
