I'll hang up and listen. Spare me the both morally superior answer.

Nothing wrong with killing a 50lbs doe if you're trying to help the buck/doe ratio.

Nah, when i was in this club, we had an old member bitching about some guys that shot some smaller does not knowing they were that small yet he's out there shooting absolutely beautiful young and upcoming bucks and that's ok cause they are bigger deer. (even though the 50lb doe was legal and his buck illegal)

I think it's perfectly ok to kill either one if that's what you want to shoot.

Takes the same amount of effort to skin and butcher both, so I'd go with the bigger one, unless I was practising QDM. Really I don't see the point in shooting anything less than 100# given all the work involved in cleaning.

bigger issue with 4pt, no doubt. Unless it is a cull.

Depends on where you hunt and the rules.

One of the places I hunt I wouldn't shoot the 4pt, because we're trying to get some bigger bucks.

50lbs for a doe is a little on the small side though. I usually aim for 80lb + does.

I'd make fun of my friends if they shot a 50lb doe but wouldn't really get mad about it.

The 4 point. There are no good reasons to shoot it and plenty reasons not to. The doe is irrelevant.

I'd have more of an issue with the buck at our club. MS increased the number of does you can take, so obviously theyre trying to get people to take more does anyway. I'm more of a trophy hunter than a meat hunter, so I'd rather see the buck have more time to grow. We had people in the club that would shoot both any chance they got. Glad MS changed the buck size rules and a lot of those guys left our lease, maybe we'll start to see more trophy deer walking around now.

If it's on my property, I'd have a problem with someone shooting the buck....not concerned with the doe.

hors d'eouvres??? Like a snack, maybe?

I realize a 50# doe is tender, but once you jerk the skin off and debone it, you're looking at 15-20# of meat if you are lucky. Guts, skin, head, bones make up most of that body weight. No thanks.

I'd be either way, but probably moreso with the buck.

I frown upon people shooting yearlings

I'd rather shoot the yearling than the mature doe, especially late in the season when she's already bred.... Maybe with a buck

I've shot a 60lb doe before, shite was goooood!!!!!! Shitton of does where i was at, needed to get rid of some, it walked right in front of my bullet. I'd be pissed if someone shot a 115lb 4pt on my property though, give it a couple years, may have a nice 8-10pt
