Thinking about getting one over the Labor Day sales.

I’ve heard good and bad; ours would be strictly for personal, occasional use. Not professional smoking or anything.

Are these the Yetis of grills?

Get the knock off for less than half the price. Cooks just as good

I have the one you can get from Sams Club, got it 5 years ago for $349 on clearance. It's been fine for me, but it's basic, doesn't have fancy plates and such with it, not sure if the BGE comes with all those options or not, but I couldn't justify the price. Mine seems to work fine for either grilling or smoking meats.

I have a BGE. Its been awesome when I get to use it.

I have a large and id rather a bigger surface or different shape.

Get the Primo oval or the one from Homedepot that has the propane insert.

I have the primo xl and it is awesome. My BIL has a big komado Joe and it is awesome as well for less money. If I had to buy again I would get the KJ for the money.

I have it. Wish I had gone XL instead of L. Salesman practically wouldn't sell me the XL saying all I needed was the L. I will probably move it to my camp and get an XL next time.

Vision Grills makes a ceramic grill that comes with a lot of accessories as part of the “basic package” that you’d have to pay extra for if you bought a BGE. I have both and I prefer it over the BGE.

I have a primo that’s 10yrs old. Used the warranty twice and couldn’t be easier.

For smoking food there is nothing better imho.

It works really good for grilling as well but I now use a griddle and a sous vide for a lot of stuff that had been cooked on the primo prior.

I prefer the oval shape of the primos because they are not super deep from to back but I can fit 6 slabs of ribs without cutting or rolling. You really can’t go wrong with primo bge or KJ....kJ has some interesting features.

No experience with the knockoffs at Lowe’s and HD. I can save the horde some money on primos and kJ if one were interested. Maybe bge too but I’m not set up with them currently.

BGE is awesome. I can’t think of any negatives.

Have had a large BGE for a long time now. Used to cook all kinds of stuff on it, but now too lazy to cook anything on it but smoked bbq. Still love it. I will say one thing. If you get one and plan on smoking ribs, brisket, etc with it, def get a bbq guru party q (what I have) or the full blown bbq guru device. Even though ceramic grills hold temp well, they can still fluctuate a good bit and the temp control devices are insanely easy and make smoking a breeze.

I see that thing all over YouTube adds. How you like it?

I have cyber Qs for my Primos. I do use them when I do long cooks and I won’t be around some, or it’s going over night.

I’ve had a BGE for years. Although there are knockoffs, it doesn’t do you any good if it doesn’t come with a lifetime warranty like a BGE or Primo. I’ve replaced all the ceramics in my BGE because over time, it’s going to crack. All I do is text a pic of a crack and the store has me come by and I pick up a new base, top, fire box ect...

Buying a cheaper ceramic cooker without a solid warranty is just throwing money away.

Stored one for a buddy in my garage for about a month. Of course I used it. Small cooking area but I was cooking on it 3-4 times a week. Anything came out great. Chicken breasts, brisket, wings, you name it. that thing holds a temp steady and doesnt use a lot of lump charcoal.

Ive heard the knockoffs are good too but ai havent used those.

I love it. I have the LeChef. It came with every accessory there is. I wanted the Big Joe, but got a better deal on the Monolith. It was on sale plus I got a 20% off promo code in the mail at Christmas time.

Any eggfests coming up soon near you? You can save a few hundred buying one there that’s been used for a day. Full warranty still applies.

I bought a vision from sams for 450 about 2.5 years ago. Love that thing. Completely got away from gas grill. Building our new house with the outdoor kitchen , I didn t put a gas grill only a place for my “egg”
