So the OP was practicing conservation. He already released a 9.5 bass, so, he kept one that was larger.
You think Bill Dance never caught, and kept stringers of bass? Do some research on the old B.A.S.S tourneys and look at their stringers....all dead, very large bass...among others that made the weigh in.

So if I catch a 8 pounder and release it and have a replica made then catch it again 2 years later and it is a 10 pounder and I have another replica made. I have had the same fish mounted twice. I need to stop drinking tonight because for some reason this cracks me up.
