People have been mounting bass forever. Still, every year, large bass are caught. I do not always limit out when I go, but I do not blame people mounting or keeping fish. You fish, you eat. Simple.
As far as the wasted meat bs and not wanting a replica, meh, I can understand how releasing the big girl would be beneficial, but that is up to the fisherman, but who eats a 10# bass? Fish die of old age ya know. They also can overpopulate. I trust that wildlife and fishery biologists have it worked out.
