I'm aware of the gasoline method. I'm also considering some of this Spectracide stuff from Lowe's. If I can use a more organic method, though, I'd prefer to do it that way. Has anyone had any success using soapy water?

Whatever the method, death must come to them soon.

EDIT: Since I know you were all on the edge of your seats waiting for an update... I tried gasoline 2 days in the a row, but it didn't seem to have an effect on them. Doused the nest with an entire can of Spectracide, and that seemed to do the list. Still 2-3 errant flyers. And never did see a paper nest. Finally found the second entrance/exit to the nest, and there were way more of them than I initially suspected--dozens and dozens. Was very lucky two have gotten stung only twice after a ran the mower directly over one of the entrance point. Next door neighbors have two little girls who play a few feet away, as well.

If you're able to zoom in, you can see just how many there were (there were tons that didn't make it in the picture spread out further from the nest).

BTW, what are the bigger ones? Queens?

Soapy water does work a little bit, but gas or diesel works much better. Wtf is with the organic shite? Do you want them dead, or do you want to feed them that fake milk?

Does one actually have to light the gasoline? I've heard it done both ways.

So, eat an apple while you spray them.

Go torch it, then use shovel to turn it over.

Pretty sure the soapy water deal just makes them not be able to fly, thus, they die eventually.

Dad brought an old pop up trailer back from south tx one time, from which he made a utility trailer. Think was FULL of honey bees. Talk about entertaining!!! Every day, watching my dad get his soapy water squirt bottle loaded up, mixing up a scotch and water, and doing battle w/the bees was freakin comedic gold. The bees won several battles, dad won the war though.

We accused him of speeding up the killer bee northern migration. Not just positive he didn't to be honest w/u.

When it comes to yellow jackets though, you're for sure allowed to throw ecological ethics out the window around these parts. Use whatever you can to kill them in the means from which you derive the most pleasure. Plutonium's fine if you can get it.

They definitely won round 1. I'm sure my neighbors enjoyed the free vaudeville act, though.

Pour 1/4 cup dawn dishwasher soap into bucket. Spray 1/2 gal of water into bucket to make layer of foam and water. Dump contents of bucket onto next and watch those frickers die. Never fails in killing the entire nest.

Gas or diesel should just drop them as soon as it touches them

I'm not doubting what you're saying but I'd love to know who dumb arse was who first tried using SOAP.

is the nest above ground or in a hole in the ground?....two completely different operations depending on where they are...

if above ground, I just use wasp spray...nothing works better...

if below ground, I typically wait until night and pour a coffee cup of gasoline down the hole...you will not see a single sign of life after that....
