Bought a 2020 Can Am defender Max today. Hope my kids don’t drive it into the pond.

I had a Viking and loved it but it’s more utilitarian than Polaris. Vikkng was tough as nails, stout, etc but Polaris is significantly quieter and rides better and a lot of time I’m riding around wife and kids also went the Polaris route and have no regrets. If buying for just hunting I’d go back to viking.

Completely worthless for anything I need one for, but that's never stopped me before.

Honest question:

Why are UTVs called side by sides?

The seating arrangement?

My FIL has a Kubota. It’s old now, one of the first ones. Guessing 2008-2009? It’s heavy as can be and slow but it’s more like a side by side tractor if you ask me. Diesel engine, hydraulic bed and a massive frame.

I have a midsize Polaris ranger 500. I really like it but there are times I wish it were bigger. Power is fine though.

Was thinking of getting speedwerx to drop a 800cc snowmobile engine in my wildcat. Thoughts?

Overdo your cooling in south la.

That's all the yxz motor is.

And one reason they can run 10k rpm for hours on end.

I know I shouldn't get another... But it calls to me

If it’s just for you mostly with an occasional passenger, the Polaris 500 is hard to beat for the application you describe. If you need more passenger capacity you will obviously need to look into larger models. I have a 2018 Polaris 500 and it’s been a great machine in the exact application you describe. Small enough to maneuver the trails easy but powerful enough to get thru the slop. I did find putting a 2” lift on it helped a lot though. It does sit a bit low off the showroom floor

Not exactly sure but I’d say less than 12” for sure. Maybe about 10” or so

8.5 according to their site. My wildcat trail stock was 9 inches. After adding my portals I'm no longer at 50 inches wide But I needed some ground clearance and it responded well to the gear reduction.
