no doubt they are fun to hunt, but there is enough hogs and good fishing at this time of year in Terrebonne parish that I don't think i would have gone Turkey hunting.

Depends if you prefer hills or saltwater marsh. To each his own.

I absolutely hate pine trees but love the hills. My sister has a house on toledo bend and I do love going there b/c of the scenery and p&q

This is not about one's personal preference. It's about what parish offers the best and most diverse outdoor opportunities in LA, and IMO, you can't get any better than Rapides parish. Mostly because of location and Kisatchie.

Great habitat, but the 365 day season knocks it out of contention.

That makes no sense. I consider myself a sportsmen but my preference doesn't matter? Then you should have just stated Rapides and why it is better than every other parish.

You just have to know what areas to avoid.

Grew up in Lafourche parish. It has everything you need. And Grand Isle should be in Lafourche so it moves that much higher than any other parish.

Live in Terrebonne parish now and it is almost as good as Lafourche.

It has to be a costal parish because no one else has fresh and saltwater fishing

And all those coastals have deer and duck as well

Not this. The deer in those Parishes are like not having deer at all.

I will stick to catching redfish, trout and bass in the same spot. If I choose to catch sac a lait I have a 3-4 mile run. Some great duck hunting and deer hunting. How long is hunting season? Fishing is all year long. Coastal parishes win.

This is one of the main reasons they would not make my list.

How diverse is a typical coastal parish compared to a non coastal parish? At certain times of the year if you choose you could kill a limit of ducks in the am, catch a limit of trout and reds on the way back to the camp as well as bass and to top it off kill a deer that evening. Northern Parish you will not catch a speck or a red.
