What's your favorite?
So far I've considered p238, LCP, LCR, bodyguard 380, and the bodyguard .38.

The thinnest with the most knock down... what I have.. All I own is 9mm, just dont want to have to buy all sorts of different calibers of ammo. There are lots of great weapons out there, but this is a great concealed carry.

I'm going to look for a new one today. I've pretty much narrowed it down to the BG380 or the LCR.

I like that lil ruger revolver. I would take a 38+P over a 9mm, and I'm a MAJOR fan of revolvers. Semi-auto pistols don't excite me much, since I don't like trusting my life to whoever put the primer on that bullet in the chamber. If it doesn't go bang the first pull, I wanna be able to just pull it again.

I like my P238...I like the metal frame even thought its a little heavier than the Ruger LCP. I also like having sites. My mom carries the LCP and I have shot it its a nice gun nothing really bad about it, I just picked the P238 because it was more of a personal prefrence.
The P238 will not have quite the recoil of the LCP due to the metal frame.
I am not a huge fan of the the look of the small pocket wheel guns...so I have not really handled any of them.
The only negative I have been reading about the Bodyguard 380 is its hard to work the lazer with just one hand.
The problem with pocket pistols is they break the number #1 rule of Pistol buying....You buy a pistol that fits and feels good in your hand...no pocket pistol fits or feels good in your hand while shooting. So you have to judge them on features you like and the realiablity of the brand you are buying.

I can't make myself buy one for this exact reason

I read that too but I believe it has been addressed. The earlier BG380's had problems with the laser button and the take down lever. From what i've read all of those issues have been remedied. You gotta check the serial numbers when buying one though to make sure you get one of the later batches with the "fixes" in place.

What everybodies thought on a 22 for pocket carry? I know it's a little small, but with accuracy it could be effective. The size and cost is very attractive.

IMO, it's better then carrying nothing at all but I would not wanna put my life in the hands of a .22.

That's how I feel about it. There are better options, but having nothing is the worst option.
Edit: BTW, I did inherit a .22LR pocket semi-auto, and I do carry it in my pocket sometimes. I know its limitations, and I am confident that if I used it with discretion, it would be effective.

Conversely, for many people, anything other than a pocket pistol breaks the #1 rule of concealed carry: carry a pistol.
to address other posts in this thread...
Kahr PM9 - I really like Kahr, but the PM9 is a little big for pocket carry unless you're wearing loose fitting clothes. Just my opinion.
If you have to have a 9mm, I'd wait until the LC9 comes out from Ruger and see if it fits well in your pocket.

The p290 from Sig may also be an option for the guys that want a 9mm
Also a 22 mag derringer style belly gun isn't the worst gun to have if somebody is trying to take your wallet.

I have the Ruger LCP .380 and like it, but am really looking towards the Ruger LC9

Me too, but I'll only believe they made it small enough for comfortable pocket carry when I put it in my own pocket. I just don't see it.

I don't know if its possible to satisfy both the pocket size, weight, comfort issue and the caliber preferences. Would we rather carry a .38spl derringer or a .22LR automatic?

Supposedly this is it, but it's expensive.

American Rifleman featured that one in their compact pistol review. Seemed to score highly but the damn thing costs as much as a Kimber 1911

What guns out there have the size of a p238 or LCP in 9mm? I'd prefer to go to 9mm route for more power and cheaper ammo
