Diesels not included.
Go. This thread isn't meant to be argumentative but just informative.
Towing not a huge concern any longer.

Those 5.7 Tundras like 2008-2019 are hard to beat man.
Shitty gas mileage but insanely reliable and ridiculous value retention

Well since the 3.0 Duramax is disallowed, I would say the Tundra with the 5.7 but Tundras come with a 6 cyl now. I like gas V8s so my choice would be F-150 with the 5.0.

I enjoy efficiency and better interiors.

I wouldn't put my nose down at a Coyote, 5.7 Hemi or the 6.2 GM engine.
Toyota doesn't do V8's any more, and it is a shame they never updated the transmission on the 5.7 trucks. Nissan does but they have enough issues with the truck I wouldn't consider that combo.
Someone can come rip on any of these trucks, they all have some issues, but nothing is perfect.

Please no one mention a 1/2 ton diesel

Had the pleasure of driving all of these as work trucks. All drove well and had nothing I disliked other than little nitpicky things.

Any basic V6 offering is generally going to give you the best value for your money IMO. They tend to be cheaper to buy, cheaper to operate, and last a long time.
That said the only current one I have any experience with is the ram v6. Wouldn't hesitate to buy one.
I dont really like the hemi. Our fleets got quite a few busted up ones.

I’ve had my Tundra for a year now.
It’s a ‘22 Platinum.
The power in the truck is just as good as my old Tundra (2011) and Sequoia (2012).
Longevity is yet to be seen but the truck has been great so far.

I know they are fine but I just can’t bring myself to have a V6 in a full size truck.

You asked for best truck/ motor combo, not for creature comforts.

Comforts etc falls under the category of “truck”.

Yeah. Exterior is sometimes a bit strange but they did a good job inside. Not sure how sequoias look so good yet tundra is a bit off

I will say that this is the only vehicle I’ve ever had that people have stopped me and asked about it or tell me how good looking it is.
That’s happened 4 times so far
It’s almost like you either love it or hate it.
