Cameron Farms (Moore-Odom Ranch) near Gum Cove used to be legit. Don't know how it is these days; haven't hunted there since the 90's.

I think in my youth one got there by crossing the intercostal on a ferry or swing bridge. I never hunted there but drove out there to watch the waterfowl. My god, it was and I hope still is a paradise. No-one ever seem to be bothered that I drove around out there but they were rough on poachers.

There was a ferry across the Intracoastal. My uncle had a lease there from the 50's until the '90's. There was 15K acres of rice, which was a waterfowl magnet, right behind his camp. We hunted in the marsh, but occasionally made a trek in the rice fields. The fishing in the marsh was also superb - more bass than you needed to catch. I really miss those days. :(

CC has some Miami leased south of icw but I trying to figure out what club there is on LP’s border. I hunt their east border and LP west border is river.
Cherry Ridge is missing from this discussion as is the Florence Club.

Wham brake at 4am on a saturday looks like Wal Mart at 4pm on a Tuesday. I haven't been out there in over 10 years and it was crowded then. You could kill some ducks there though.

Before this thread closes out I have to put in a plug for Johnson's Bayou in the extreme SW corner of La. Drive along the coast road and turn in at the JBHS and then back to the marsh. When I was young we paid our 1/5th share of the lease or $25. It was a walk in place and just loaded up with GWT, pintail, grey ducks and gorgeous BWT drakes late in the season. We killed a cinnamon teal off that lease. It didn't get a lot of love because it was a brackish marsh. In the five or six years I hunted it I only killed one greenhead and one mallard hen but a man could fill out a ten pintail limit in the day. It is part of the Gray Estate. I don't hear much about it these days.

McGowan Brake in Morehouse Parish. Hunted it for several years and regardless of what the ducks were doing other places, we killed limits.

Private 800 acre cypress brake

Try Wal Marts on Black Friday. Place is a zoo and you missed what makes Wham so awesome these days, mud motors. Also usually ran by flatbill youngsters that were probably in elementary school the last time you were there.

If we’re talking right now, for the OP, Grosse Savanne isn’t in the same league as Little Pecan Island Club. Hell, GS Instagram feed was showing fishing pics as much as duck straps this winter, and just last week there were some straps with a lot of dosgris on them....yes, scaup, not ringers.

That sh*t don’t fly at LPI. Never been myself, likely never will, but have very close family friend that’s been a good handful of times.

“It’s like nothing you can imagine”....and the pics support it. Yes, even in today’s day of glory days being well behind most of us and places we have access to.

They have bad days also but I’m told the amenities make up for those days.

Some good info on here but the best overall is a place called Saltlake in NE La. It is 5000 acres of hard woods that is flooded and drained each year. It is also surrounded by rice fields.

Can’t beat ole Johnny Wink’s Megabucks duck guides property it’s easily the best property I’ve ever hunted on. Spoonies for days and the owner is a class act...

Salt Lake is definitely one of the better places up here but I wouldn’t say it’s the best up in Nela.
