What does the OB like these days? I need to grab a couple and haven’t bought any in a while so I’m way behind on what’s out there now. Don’t need anything crazy, just the basics with half decent pictures that will last a couplethree seasons.

My browning goes through batteries quickly, but it’s probably because I have it set on taking 3 pics each time it goes off. Pics are clear and great though.

Browning trail cams: Picture quality is good. Video quality is above average. Long battery life. Have six cams for two years and none have failed.

Stealth

These have not fared well for me. Slow trigger and poor in low light.

The Wildgame Innovations have done well for the price. Browning is good as well.

I like moultries but bought a couple Tascos at Walmart for $28. Paid an additional $3 for a protection plan for a total of $31 per cam. If it craps out I can get a new one. So far not too bad. Other folks have said the same

You can find brand new older model cameras on eBay for a score. A lot of times last year or year before high end camera will run about the same as this years new bottom end one. I’ve picked up a few this way.

I got the 2 for $120 deal on stealthcams from Midway. They did OK. Slow trigger and poor image quality as others have said. At some point through the season, one of them malfunctioned and I had 900 pictures of nothing. The slow trigger on the other was frustrating - got a lot of shots of deer butts when they walked by.

I bought a couple of the $25 Tasco's from Walmart and they work fine. The down side is that there is no battery display on them IIRC. The night pics aren't real clear, but for 25 bucks, it's not a bad deal.

I see simmons has, among others, a Primos 12MP Quick Shot Trail Camera on sale for $39.99 (listed as regular $79.99 there)and a Stealth Cam PX14X on sale for $49.99 (also listed as regular $79.99 there)... I know you get what you pay for, but these seem to be good prices for the cheaper cameras.

anyone have any experience with either of these cameras?

I used 8 Tascos. 2 crapped out, but the other 6 have held up for going on 3 years.

I've had good luck with a few Primos cheapies. Still running after a few years. Pic quality good. Battery life okay. Easy to set up.

Man I have the same story I think they suckered people in. I got one one year as a Christmas present it was as good or better than my 150$ cameras. Lasted 3 yrs or more so I figured I would buy 2-3 of them. They lasted a few months some only one or two weeks!!! Will not buy again

I have mixed opinions on the Wireless cams.

I own 5 coverts personally and we have 13 cuddebacks at camp.

The coverts have great cell signal and I like the app better for checking pics. The trigger on the cameras are much less reliable and so they miss A LOT of action. I now put a browning with every covert so I don’t miss so much. The difference in what the 2 catch is tremendous.

The cuddeback system in theory is pretty cool. One cell cam, 12 cuddelinks send to it. We get 4 or 5 emails a day with 25 pics per email. The trigger is much more reliable than the coverts, but still seems like it is not as good/reliable as the browning. Since you need the cameras to communicate with each other, placement of cameras is a little more limited. We have solar set up on all of em , so batteries not an issue. Only pay for one cell service.

I’ve had issues with coverts and cuddebacks failing so no real difference there.

Hope that helps.

I just bought a Spypoint Woreless from Academy. Will be my first wireless so we will see but I got it for $95 on price match so can’t complain too much.
