Buy an older boat and get it refitted with new engine and electronics.

That is what I am currently in the process of with my BB 1960. It is a great boat, but I'd like a bit more freeboard and length, but not a true CC and no T top.

I am in the PNW and on the water and I have nothing blocking SW winds up to 55 mph for over 40 miles, so it can get kind of crazy, throw in the fact we have a tide change of up to 13' and 4 kt current in some places, it can make for sea state stupid if you get caught in bad weather.

Fishing those conditions I would get a Deep Vee. How hard is it to find a Bay Boat in the PNW?

Where are you fishing? In many instances a 24 footer is overkill, and sometimes it isn't enough. I have a twenty foot bay boat, and I feel comfortable running out to places north and east of the Biloxi Marsh. I run from Myrtle Grove down to Four Bayous with no problem. I have a friend who has a 24ft. Nautic Star, and it might not be enough boat. He runs across Lake Borgne quite often, and we have had some very rough trips. He is looking to get a deep-V or hybrid soon.

Absolutely. 24' really shines speck fishing and sticking your nose out on a perfect day. It is not big enough for offshore on anything other than a perfect day, and can be a pain in the arse to deal with by yourself. If you have a piece of shite floating trailer like I do its downright hard to deal with yourself. You need to be an acrobat.

Trust me, I know, but I like it for being able to get into the mouths of rivers for salmon and trout.

My padnuh has a bigger wellcraft CC when we need it.

Sea hunt. Had a 24’6” cc and took it offshore multiple times 40’plus miles. Carolina flare made it a very dry boat that can handle more than most bay boats. Also was able to get pretty skinny with it in the Biloxi marsh. Only issue there was I didn’t have a power pole and using an a got to fish onshore sucks .

This would be an exceptionally good deal if everything is in good order with the boat.

Mister Bigfish

the boat was fully serviced and detailed feb 2020 and has been stored indoors since. New owner will not be disappointed especially at this price.
