Thinking of getting one with some friends. Where would get one?

Grand Isle, Cocodrie, Venice, Shell Beach, DuLac? someplace else?

Cocodrie, Dulac, or Delacroix

Hackberry if you like the big girls.

Venice is awesome but it's so damn far

Depends on what kind of fishing you want to do, what kind of boat you have, and what your budget is.

What is a good location of a camp within 2 hr drive from northshore that allows access to solid fishing to fill the cooler with specs and reds for $50-100k?

We fish mostly inside but do go to Breton Island and close rigs occasionally. One guy also has a pretty good offshore rig.

I like Delacroix but sometimes you have to go a long ways in the boat compared to Empire or Grand Island.

Just can't decide. Right deal we could pay like $300K but really don't want that much in a camp. Will probably be 4 partners.

Bayou Pigeon or Belle River. My camp is under an hour from the house and beer/whiskey/shine flows just like you drive 4 hours to the coast.

That's right.
Gonna try to make it down there this weekend to check everything out. Both niece's birthday is Saturday and I'm in Florida working right now so I'm not sure if it's gonna be a quick trip or overnighter but I need to get my boat out of the yard and back to the camp if nothing else. Any idea if the rivery is still up?
ETA: nevermind it's still at least in my boat shed

Venice is the best place to do all. Bass catfish tuna specks reds snapper ducks and deer if you wanta work for them but it comes at the cost of no night life and a drive

Yep. I sure miss Tom's in Empire. That was great restaurant.

There are no good places to eat in Venice and it is a drive.

Grand isle. You could buy a lot for 30/40k. Great night life. Awesome fishing. You have a place to bring back the prostitutes from tarpon every year.

There are several great locations below Houma for salt water. The fishing is great and most camps have a boat lift, often 2. After having the convenience of a boat on a lift it is hard to go back to launching a boat at a crowded ramp each time you go fishing.

Being able to drive your boat up to a dock to get fuel and bait are also big pluses.
