That picture posted looks like basically flooded water. Of course they wouldn’t get caked with mud.

What size are those(compared to stock) and how'd they effect MPG?

Goodyear duratrac. I've bought 2 sets. Last a damn long time. Aggressive sidewall. Good spacing in the middle of the tread so it absolutely can grip. I have been through the deeeeep arse Alabama mud in them 20-30 times, and I am either extraordinarily talented at not getting stuck as a quasi-new offroader, or they're really damn good tires.

I put 100k miles on my last set of KO2’s and currently have 80k on this set (pictured). Gonna get another at my next oil change.... vehicle is a Tahoe. Cant see myself buying another tire - can’t ask for more than what I’ve gotten out of these.

Love my BFG KO2's

They have been great for me in snowy mountain terrain.
That's the best endorsement I can think of.

Yeah, I had Mickey Thompson's 2 sets ago.
They are sexy AF, but they wore down fast.

Big votes for BFG KO2

If you need a few more knobs, got for the extremes. They are awesome. Road noise is so low.

I ended up going with wrangler duratrac and really like them. Wanted to stay with a passenger tire and not an LT. And they look great!

These are 34x11.5r17. I haven't really checked the mpg, but according to the dash computer I went from 22.5 to 19.

ETA: I've been told I can get a programmer to bring it back to stock mpg, but I haven't done it yet. I still drive my Tacoma most days on my long 6 minute commute to work.

I drive a lot.... probably get oil changes every 45-60 days & always have tires rotated when I get oil changes. No real secret my man. They have done me well

BF Goodrich KO2s, got almost 80k miles out of my last two sets on an F250. My boss had similar results on his Tundra

Just put on Nitto Ridge grapplers on my F150. Great looking tires and so far has been great. Low noise and I swamped my truck yesterday at the deer lease and was able to work it out.

Nitto Ridge Grapplers

Yes they are more expensive than others, but you get what you pay for. Less road noise and longer lasting.

It's a pipeline that stays like that for 300 days a year. You're right, It's just hard pack.

All Terrains really aren't made for serious mud. There are no lugs for them to self clean so they do as you just described, cake up. They are good for light mud and general off-road stuff. If you are going to be in mud or need to have the baddest mall crawler, then obviously you need a mud tire. If you really need to get through some bad shite with zero regard for street life, you need a Super Swamper Bogger.

That's right......also, keep the air pressure correct.

I get between 80-90k miles out of a set of the BFG's.......

There are hybrids now that do relatively well in the mud. They have road manners like an all-terrain, but don't last as long
