Baws and their SxS.

Headed down to Venice to fish, and there was obviously a mud ride in South Ms. I just can’t wrap my head around the guy driving a 15k truck, but pulling a Can Am Maverick that cost 40-50K. It’s like renting a ran down trailer, but I got that new F250 platinum in driveway.
How do people make that ridiculous of a decision? It makes my brain hurt trying to understand that thought processes. Do any of y’all understand that type shite?

I can’t wrap my head around spending that much on a SxS no matter how much they spent on a truck. I don’t get that whole culture but hey whatever gets their rocks off. Not my business.

My regular driver truck is a 78 GMC 3/4 ton 4x4. It probably wouldn't bring 5,000 bucks if I put it up for sale. It's a damn good truck though, and I wouldn't be afraid to drive it anywhere in the country. Of course, I won't be pulling a fancy SxS behind it, but I would like to have a nice tractor.

Baw at the gas station yesterday had a gooseneck trailer with three SxS on it. They were all pressed up against the others tire to tire The first one was winched to the very front of the trailer, second one winched to the first, third winched to the second and only one big ratchet strap that went all the way around the rear tires of the third. I didn’t want to be anywhere near that rig going down the road

I can’t wrap my head why anyone would ever need to go 70 mph in one. My mule & my JD Gator XUV are more than enough

Where this pic was taken in arkansas is at the end of a level 8 trail. 3-5ft obstacles. Sheer drop sections. No problem.
It brought 4 people to this spot with relative ease.
Even a rock buggy can't do that. And a rock buggy isn't 20k.

This is like every 3rd vehicle that you pass on Hwy49 between Wiggins & Richland.
I always laugh a bit, but I also see the doublewides with a $50k+ bay boat outside all the time down here.

It’s such a laughable money dump.
Finance a 30k side by side, snap an axle or burn up a gearbox and you have to wait for the next tax return to pay to fix it so you are paying 400 a month for the thing to sit on a trailer in your yard while your wife picks up extra shifts at the hospital and you have to borrow money from pee paw to pay for Braxleighs new car seat.

It’s not my thing but let’s face it everyone has there thing that they “waste” money on.
You can substitute SxS with (bayboat, fifth wheel, racecar, motorbike) as things that people spend a shite pile on and pay for monthly and go months without using!

If they can make the note while taking care of other responsibilities, more power to em. I can’t wrap my head around having $80K in a truck or boat either, but I’d have both tomorrow if I hit the lottery. Can’t take it with you.

I think about this every time I see $100k rolling down the highway.

I talked to a guy yesterday that owns a used car lot. He says this time of year is like his Black Friday. People getting their earned income checks want a new ride. He had a woman and her 2 daughters come in last Friday. He said between the 3 of them they had almost 40K in tax refunds. He said they barely earn that per year combined.
Maybe baws are getting them gov checks too.

Tax season has always been a yuge used car, rims, hur, purse buying event for many. Not so much for work boot purchases.

Take a stroll through any plant parking lot and get back to me. People in general are pretty impulsive with some cash in their pocket.

It depends on smoothness. I have a lot of pipelines and gravel roads that are 30ft wide and fairly smooth. I comfortably can cruise at 55+ heading to the lease. It's convenient.

I have a Honda foreman lifted with mud tires, some internal modifications, etc.... and a SxS jacked up with big tires, lights, speakers, and other stuff.
I got them to play in the mud and to use around my parents house.
Also have a tractor and trailer to haul everything (not at one time) but my dad used them all around the homestead unless I have them at a mud ride but now a days I don’t mud ride much I usually use them to hunt or ride in the woods.
I say all this because I bought them because I always wanted them. If you can afford them then get what you want. Next purchase will be a nice bass fishing rig

I always find it a bit funny loading my '98 Honda 300 in the back of my platinum F-150 (not a brag).
But I'd put money that 300 (has 29.5s) will follow those sxss just about everywhere for tens of thousands less.

We need people who make poor decisions to keep the economy going. If everyone held onto a buck like me, the good people who make and service and finance and insure all that expensive stuff would be out of work.

I probably get clowned on all the time for pulling a pos Jon boat with a trolling motor behind my 50k truck.
