Does that limit the tournaments you can fish? I've never fished tournaments myself, but my son is planning to join the school fishing team. I've noticed that many tournaments seem to have a 250 hp maximum.

Don’t you have some toadfish to go catch this morning?

Yes. If your son is fishing for his school, then it will likely be on the BASS youth circuit. BASS sets the HP limit at 250.

Yes, so that was my main excuse not to get one

I road in all of them. And fish out of all of them. Personally Phoenix rides the best not the fastest but in big water no one rides better than that boat. Now Bass Cat has an amazing under hull, and the strongest composite fiberglass mesh. But there boats look PAPA!. Just my opinion. The hand rail on the side is old school and the triangle doors are a hassle. And there are skinny. No deck space. But there boats are fast. Skeeter is a great boat. Don't like the aluminum doors under the front deck they rattle when they get older. And Ranger use to be a great boat but when they got bought out, They went to shite. No S.S. on any of the rams and door hatches. Go look and I mean really look on all of them. Look in the wells . Phoenix makes the best boats period. they are refined inside and out. Now that being said. They need to improve on a few things. The console needs a remodel. And they do not have a hatch to get to the pumps. If you are a bigger person. go and tri to change out one of them. IUKUK. THATS MY TWO CENTS.
And if you were wondering I do own a Phoenix.

BCB triangle wells are awesome. I had a 9.38 fit in there with no problem and healthy as could be at weigh in. The old school Champion 202 and 181 were some of the best riding bass boats ever built.

Go look at 10 year old boats of different brands that you know have been used a lot. That will tell you all you need to know.
