Bank fishing in Baton Rouge

Where are some good spots to bank fish in Baton Rouge? I'm looking to go throw some lines (catch and release only in not trying to keep any) for a little while. I'm not worried about the rain unless the place will lose access because of it.

The amount of garbage those guys leave behind is impressive

When the OB was just getting started that was done. Pressure on the waters had landowners shutting down access left and right. It was deleted shortly after its creation...

head west if you are in BR till you get to the east bank of the mighty Mississippi river, toss in the largest and cheapest can of dog food you can find after punching a bunch of ice pick holes in it, wait 30 minutes, fish on the bottom and catch all the catfish you want...

Brec ponds, waddill, private neighborhood ponds (best one is azalea lakes), and cat fishing off the Mississippi River where ever you can find a spot to set up. LSU lakes cat fishing is supposedly good too

Lots of people say the LSU lake water is too dirty to keep fish out of. Idk though, I think it’s probably alright

I used to kill em in LSU lakes but that was several (30) years ago.
ETA: wasn't from the bank

Sounds like a line from a Kenny Chesney song.

Azalea lakes has 0 fish in it. None. Flood took them all away so not even worth fishing here anymore...

Can't tell if someone is genuinely trying to give advice or furiously protecting their honey hole?

If my gf knew I wasn't protecting the bass honey hole, I might have to sleep in the dog house. We don't fish it hard, but we always catch a few bass. Last I caught was almost 5 pounds and several 1-2 pounders. Always catch bream and kitty cats off the pier on the canal. Not much for bank fishing here with all of the houses though, except maybe at the boat ramp.

This makes sense, but does it actually work?

Back when I lived in BR, I always had a great time fishing the Blackwater Conservation Area in Central. If I still lived there, I wouldn't be posting this. Disclaimer: This was 8-10 years ago.
