Wood duck back in 97 or 98 when I was 11 roosting woodies. It was banded in Iowa. I was cleaning the ducks in the kitchen sink and saw it and asked dad what it was.

Killed about 300 of them. Once killed 4 double banded green heads in one shot right behind blind river bar.

Signed Capt St/Hammertime/OBC

Edit:

Ain't no such thing as a banded duck.
Signed, KIng ranch

Killed one banded wood duck in East Texas. It was banded in North Dakota of all places. I didn't think wood ducks went that way.

No clue, I kill over my limit and I breast in field. I have no time to check for bands because green jeans is always on my trail. But with the sacks I kill each hunt I'm sure a few have had bands.

Thousands of ducks later and no bands. No even one shot out of the same blind as me. I don't get it.

Last banded duck we killed out of my blind was a wood duck hen. A group of about four flew over and I told my grandson to take em. He drops two with one shot. I get in the boat to fetch em up and on my way I think to myself it would be way cool if one of em was banded. Pick em both up and sure enough the hen had jewelry. Didn't say a word and once we get back in the blind I toss em in too him. He was fired up that he killed a dbl., and I said check the legs out. What a great day.

Shot a few mallards that were banded in Ontario. One Jack Minor bible verse band.
Going up my driveway this morning and a few geese were crossing in front of me. One of them had double leg bands. If my son knew he would probably be sniping it in the morning before school with a .22 rifle.

Killed a ross' goose in 1995 in Thornwell, LA. Banded in lake Winnipeg, Canada the year before.

Since then I've been in the blind to see a wood duck and 2 separate pintails killed that were banded. I just shot at other ducks in the group, so no claim to the bands.

I've killed plenty of ducks and still have not killed one with a band. I hunt in Louisiana and Arkansas and only seen one killed with a band.
