Given the latest shooting and Biden pumping the anti-angle instead of focusing on what actually happened, frick registering for now. Pistols they will stay.

But then you get the rhetoric spewed by Biden, and it's damned hard to trust anything.

That’s one several reasons I’m supporting DeSantis. Trump produced some good results but he needs to move over and let Ron wreak havoc on the Wokestani’s.

Thankfully our Founding Fathers and the first generation of American Patriots didn’t have this attitude or we would still be subjects of the King.

Before you decide to napalm anyone considering this: do you have an NFA item? A SBR, a suppressor, etc? I don't, and I've been interested in that. I frankly wouldn't mind having a true SBR, with a good stock and a vertical foregrip. I wouldn't have chosen one of my pistols as the platform, as they're pretty damn cheap. If I were going to go about doing an SBR, I would have went with a higher tier of product. In the past, it was never considered a concession, it was an investment.
But, as of right now, "They" are offering it, for free, with what I do have. It's pretty tempting, but like everyone else involved, I get the impression they are holding this SBR registration out with one hand, and they have something else in the other hand behind their back. Just feels very "trappy", especially with all the rhetoric getting spewed around.
I'd love the outcome of all this to be a court ruling establishing the "short barrel pistol-rifle" as an item of 'common use' and pass the Heller standard, and thus pave the way for a removal of SBRs from the NFA list. There ARE a ton in circulation, which seems to suggest that would be the case.
But I just don't see that happening in this country, not with the climate. If the SBR gets freed up, I could see a concerted effort being made to make it illegal via Congress passing new gun laws. I'm certain RINOs would tow the line, citing that they previously WERE restricted, and if they became unrestricted, a new control (outright ban, maybe) would be deemed necessary. We'll see 'convenient mass shootings' occur to push public sentiment... something I think we already might be seeing at times.

I wonder how long until the Agency Thwarting Freedom shows up at his house wanting to inspect all of his firearms.

I have 8 suppressors and have not once had someone knock on my door wanting to inspect something.

You know, I was thinking the same thing, but one of the local gun stores guys keeps trying to talk me into a silencer. I mentioned how I didn’t want to end up on a registry list, and he, like most here have said, if they want to frick you, there’s other ways of them to go about it outside of the NFA.
Now regardless of your opinions of that, this guy “giving in” to the ATF on this pistol brace ruling is a bitch .

quote:I don't have any registered NFA items, but I've thought about that angle. Most of the people who do have suppressors and SBRs, are some of the most ardent and active guns-rights guys out there. They've gone through the additional hoops and steps to get firearms and stuff otherwise not allowed.quote:

So, joining the ranks of guys like Gun Jesus and MrGunsNGear, and Hickok, etc, that doesn't seem like a concession, not when you look at it that way.

Did they come with a warrant? What was that experience like?
Puckering, I’m sure.

did they have to come into your house and check everything in your safe, or did they let you bring whatever they needed to inspect outside?
eta: aight, now everything i'm reading regarding NFA items and warrants is saying the ATF still needs a warrant. they just can't come to your house, walk in, and verify that everything is still in order.
apparently, this is a decades old myth.

I have had NFA items since 2008. I have 20 now. I have never been visited. They can’t just show up at your door and demand an inspection under the law. They can ask but you can tell them to come back with a warrant. I have my attorney on speed dial I’d that ever occurs.

Yes....Yes they can. You are correct that you do not have to comply but they can actually do that. Happens all the time.

All jokes aside I'm sure for the most part it's random but I know it must have freaked you out to open the door to that. I have a buddy that does ffl stuff with his main job and they popped in on him for an inventory checkup like that before...but he is not just a random individual. I have always thought that buried in this ordeal is a way for them to add more names to a list they don't keep, but I'm already on the list so I'm trying to take advantage of the situation and save 2k in stamps that I will turn into another gun, can, or ammo.

Man, all of those disabled veterans who want to go to the gun range are going to be really bummed out. I know if I'd been sent home from Iraq after stepping on an IED, I'd be itching to get to the range, first thing!
