Anyone built one of these puppies?

I've never shot the round, but i just watched a shite load of youtube videos on it; and it sounds like a great round for an sbr, oh i mean pistol haha.

I am looking at the kak shockwave "brace" on a spikes lower that ive had for awhile and just buying a bcm 9" complete upper.

Do you plan to suppress or reload for it?

I honestly think the 300BLK craze may come and go but hopefully it sticks. It’s a great round to suppress but at suppressed velocities it’s basically a very long 45 ACP bullet. Not to say it can’t place an accurate shot but that your effective range is quite short compared to the supersonic ones or just plain ole 5.56.

Only point of .300 blk is short and suppressed. Don't buy it if you don't plan to suppress it. If you don't plan on getting a silencer, buy a 6.5 grendel pistol upper if you want something short and deadly.

Cant suppress in Illinois, will be reloading & using it for fun and home defense. I have so many home defense guns. It is my go to when my wife asks why i got another gun.

Will be 9", per my due diligence there is no increase in velocity after that length

Not no increase. It's very negligible though. Also, 6.5 grendel in a 12 to 12.5 inch barrel is a better choice imo if you cant get a can for your gun.

Well then the 300BLK is pretty much pointless. The whole point of the round is that it cycles a subsonic in a semi auto. If you're not going to run subs through a suppressor then go with another caliber.

I agree with Bapple, I think the 300BLK fad is coming to an end. It got popular with the suppressor craze that's been going on for the last few years. Once that settles down I think people will realize it's a very niche caliber. I know I haven't taken mine out the safe in over a year now.

As stated, unless going suppressed there are better choices. I built one years ago and it lives with an Omega 9K these days. Its a fun, quiet SBR and fills the intended roll very well, but as a "normal guy" shooting it meh. Your parts list is solid.

Go 6.5 grendel if you aren't suppressing. I built a 300blk. I do plan on suppressing it and using it for home defense. Wish I would have gone grendel first. My 300blk just sits in the safe now until I get a suppressor.

Only reason not to shoot would be ammo cost. Take it out and have fun.

My 5yr old killed 3 deer with an unsuppressed 16 in 300 blackout this year. It does serve a purpose.

i think we are way past that.

5.56 bolt
5.56 magazines
30 cal bullet
hits like a hammer compared to 5.56

I have both 300blk sbr 8.2" barrel (suppressed)

12" 6.5 Grendel pistol (suppressed)

The SB Tactical brace is more comfortable than the Shockwave fyi

300Blk - more plentiful and cheaper ammo options, especially just for plinking

6.5 Grendel- better velocity (not by much though) allowing you to reach out a little bit further than 300blk

this choice is yours, can't really go wrong with either.

This is an understatement. The shockwave is painful to shoot. I'm about to sell mine for a SB.

The key is not trying to make the 300 blk something it’s not. It is however a great deer gun for young and recoil sensitive hunters. We shoot 110 gr SST and haven’t lost a deer yet with 7 kills.

Hard to justify building them when Primary Arms always has such good deals on full setups. Then change out whatever you want.

Houston company too.

People can get steel cased 6.5 grendel for plinking.
