My dad took my old high school Bronco and did this
He poured bedliner somehow in the entire interior floor of the truck, so no mats needed anymore
He also got custom cabinets made for the back, so he can keep his guns and everything else inside locked up and unseen

A 1980's CJ would be a much better choice. Older Broncos are worth more restored.

I had a '80 CJ7 back in my early college days. It had a 350 under the hood, 4" lift, glasspacks, and rolled on 35's so it was absolutely the worst vehicle a 20 something should drive, but it was fun and could pick up Monroe skanks with the quickness.
Seriously, a more scaled down version would be a great hunting rig and obviously much more wallet friendly than a old Bronco.

Friend of mine had one that originally was a hunting rig. Buckshot mudders, huge Warn winch, marine carpet interior...perfect for narrow trails. We tried to get that thing stuck. He eventually had it painted, new interior, lots of work to make it a streetable (street legal) ride.

I can't imagine how much cancer it has unless it has already been addressed. Great fixed up tho!

85 was the first year they came in EFI. Check the top on the distributor to see if it is rotten, most common issue. If you can't find the problem, message me and I will take it off your hands. Put some 4.88s in the rear and it will pop a wheelie

Would love a Longmire Bronco for weekend stuff like fishing, shooting, etc... have to drive down a few miles of rutted gravel to get to my shooting location and my daily car is not that suited to it.

There’re was a ‘78 bronco on sportsman a few yrs ago, the guy said “no rust”, he sent me a few additional pics and I could see the ground through the floorboard. Had an old road sign for a floor mat.

I’m in the middle of rebuilding my 93 F150, its pretty easy to work on and is a very fun and rewarding project. There’s alot more aftermarket support for these old Fords than I figured. I’m swapping a Sterling 10.5 rear and Dana 60 front from an 07 Super Duty into currently, then moving on to the motor. Ford’s new 7.3 Godzilla crate motor is getting more and more support, been keeping a close eye on that. There’s a company making motor mounts for it now, and there are computers and harnesses supposedly on the way. Would make for a fun truck.

Grew up in a tan and cream 79 bronco with a 460 in it with a Cam. Purred like a kitten but roared like a lion. I often toss up the idea of finding one to restore as a weekend driver/camp truck but really would never use it. If one fell into my lap I would have to pick it up.

I have 2 troopers. The old one(92) has over 300,000 miles on it, it's got the chevy 60 degree v6 in it. It's been an awesome vehicle, never had to do but 1 repair on it, that was the tensioner pulley. Just regular upkeep other than that. Also have a 99 that has the DOHC 3.5 v6, it's not nearly as good of a vehicle. It does have more HP though.

Man I am jealous!
My first vehicle was an 86 bronco. Baby blue/and dark blue two tone. 6 inch lift on 35's, regeared with 4 10's, and true duals. Loved that vehicle.

I had an '88 with the 4cyl with a manual tranny. Didn't the V-6 have solid lifters that had to be adjusted periodically?
