Don't know about scallops but it does fry up nice. I used to keep a pair of tree limb loppers for cutting off the tails of the rays before boating them. If you keep one, to clean it just make a cut near the top of the body then fillet the wing no gutting necessary. No bones and it is white meat. Now it will look like an elephant jacked off in your ice chest

Spot on with the water. We were at a camp miles away from any services and called poison control when i got stuck. Told us to soak in hot water and a shot of whiskey wouldn't hurt if over 21

grab the sticker with some pleyers and stick a knife between it and the tail and ut towards the body.
