Just joined deer lease and see more turkeys than deer. Can you recommend a new comer to the sport any must haves...
I already have mossberg 3.5" turkey shotgun.
Calls, feed, any tips appreciated.

Patience, scout, dont fidgit, find a call that you can operate and practice. Pattern your gun too. Id rather turkey hunt than eat. Hahahaha

I start hunting them in Mississippi in March. I then move to Missouri in mid April. Then to South Dakota and Wyoming in early May. When it's over, I'm exhausted. Best feeling ever.

Up here in NC the wildlife resource commission will do seminars on turkey hunting and are excellent for new guys. Call up you local biologist and see if they do anything similar. My dad took me when I was twelve and went on my own at 16 haven't looked back sense. Grand Slam is my goal one day.
