For anyone who hunts NW Miss - Madison county or surrounding areas. Anyone had much rut activity? I'm trying to figure out when to take my week off from work.

Thanks in advance

I don't know about down there. Madison is not southwest but in Panola and Lafayette and surrounding counties they are chasing.

Thanks.

Was in stand last Thursday and Sunday and saw no signs. Just trying to time it right.

I killed an 8 point in Yazoo County that was chasing last Sunday. I've heard a couple deer grunting, also. It's right on the edge of really getting kicked off. Hopefully after this front moves through it will get going.

Sat i saw a big buck tailing a group of does. Not chasing but a buck that big would not just stroll out in a food plot unless he had poon on his mind. North of Vburg

ETA i tried to get my 6 year old to shoot him and missed.

I was wondering the same thing

I hunted in Panola County Thurs and Fri... Saw a few bucks... No shooters... They were all running with a doe... Hunted in Issaqueana County Sat and Sun and didn't see any rut activity... They will really get goin in Delta National these next 2 weeks

Being a NE Louisiana native (Monroe) I call everything NE. I guess since I go straight across the river from Monroe to Jackson. Thanks for the info. I plan to give it hell the next two weeks.

I hunt in Madison Co around Grant's Ferry. I killed a nice 8pt this time last year that was chasing but haven't seen any mature bucks at all this season. I've seen a few scrapes popping up here over the past few weekends so I'm hoping to get some action this weekend.

Well it's not to me because i live there. Its almost directly in the center of the state and i consider Grenada north. There are some monster bucks in northern Madison county out by Flora

Born and raised in Funroe. Went to college for 7.5 years finally LSU took pity on me and gave me a degree. Moved to Flowood, MS for work in 2007 and been here since.

Sneak behind Prep's soccer field. Probably some wall hangers in there
