Was this in a river with moving water? How deep? It sank right away? That’s surprising to me but idk obviously

Shot one about 10 yrs ago Squirrel hunting in January and he sank in chest deep water. I stripped down to my drawers and waded around poking with a stick until I found him and went down to get him. Kinda floated him out. Water was very cold. Still not sure why I didn’t just leave him there.

Good. I was about to drop a dime to EF Hutton if you were skipping 223's off the pond.

No, pulled one into my ski boat once. She didn't give me a reason to shoot her until the next day.

I leave them hogs where they are and come back the next day for their friends to come eat them and shoot them too. Occasionally I will bring them to some cajun buddies if they dont stink too bad. Shot them in Catahoula Lake a ton with the water not super high or with it really high on the islands.

My neighbor was cruising down the Tickfaw river and saw a big buck swimming across. His wife and sister in law in the boat started screaming and crying when he grabbed the antlers and was trying to drown it. He let it go and regrets doing so to this day.

If I was firing anything that sends a pill downrange, there would be contact and not skipping ??

He was after woodcock. Pretty sure he wasn’t hunting them with a rifle.

I've heard a couple of guys tell stories about shooting them and they sink. Next time wait till it steps on dry land first.
