Is it true that there is a high fence pen in the vicinity of where this was killed?

We were over there in the late 90's no high pen that I am aware. There were always some deer with messed up antlers killed on the lease...

So that would be considered a typical? I've never cared about scores because you can't eat the rack, but just curious

It's up to the hunter how he wants to score it, could be scored either typical or non-typical.

Depend on the scoring system he uses to score the deer....some have rules and guidelines for typical/non typical some leave it up to the owner.

I would have thought that this story would have hit the Sportsman by now.

My family got it on a game cam early on in the season. A few miles away from where it was killed. Def not high fenced in. Made me sick when they told me he was down.

Come to think of it, there have been more big bucks running around this year. Bagged a nice 8 pt in the same spot week after Thanksgiving.

Appreciate whoever cut the fence line!!!

i'm not sure how close it is to where this deer was killed, but there is a pen in zachary. a friend of mine knows the people that have it. i was told the doe's in the pen draw a lot of attention from wild bucks, they come right up to the fence. he told me he thought the buck they have in the pen was going to fight with a wild buck through the fence 3 weeks ago.

This may be the same one.

There's no pen in Zachary that I know of?

Pretty sure the kid holding the deer wasn't the shooter too.

I know of a deer just as impressive if not more that was seen last year on multiple occassions in the same general area.
