I can't imagine how that father must feel, he will probably never forgive himself.

Absolutely heartbreaking. I live near the wolf river and that is a very dangerous river with a lot of boat traffic on the weekends. Praying for the family.

We used to always go tubing and skiing down the Wolf River growing up...I was always afraid of sunken trees.

My condolences to the family...truly sad.

Did it all the time growing up. I wouldn't pull anyone in a tube on those kinds of rivers though (such as Tickfaw). Too narrow and trees everywhere.

That's terrible. As a father, I couldn't imagine having to deal with something like this.

I've only been tubing on Tickfaw once (every other time it's False River) and I was not comfortable having to share such a narrow river and been thrown close to the stumps. Scary shite.

This happened near my cousins camp in Cocodrie several years back. Guy getting pulled on a tube in Bayou Little Calliou hit a tree or something. We saw the boat pulling him go behind the camp and commented on how dangerous it was to be pulling in that bayou. A few minutes later we heard the Hellicopter Landing to take him to the hospital. I think he died on the scene. Bayous and rivers just aren't the best place for water sports like that. Especially if there is a lot of boat traffic. I know people do it all the time. We did it when we were younger. Now that I'm a bit older, I see the dangers though. Very sad.

Damn, I wouldn't think Little Caillou would be dangerous. Saw a few tubers there this weekend.

I got word that the kid's mother is from Houma. I know her and went to school with her brothers. I'd venture to say that most people from Houma know or know of the family. Really tragic.
