hey have some that essentially do the same thing in the 26 range.

Calcutta
Yellowfin
Andros
Panga Marine

The calcutta, and or tideline cats would do the same, but alot slower as far as the trout fishing side.

yellowfin 26 hybrid does have twins, but im not sure it can use a trolling motor.

I've seen a picture of a trolling motor on a Freeman. Probably could get one on the YF if you really wanted to.

Seahunter 28 Floridian seems to be a pretty close fiberglass equivalent

I would like the front and back deck recessed a little more. and i would want more floor space instead of deck space. the deck extending onto each side of the CC aggravates me for some reason. I wouldn't spend my imaginary 150K on it. lol.

No room for removable icechest.

Yeah I was gonna say the 28 Seahunter. IMO, they build the best looking CC boats out there

the exact same concept in glass would be a 26 yellowfin hybrid.

similar boats would be a barker but isn't set up for twins.

ideal set up if you needed a deepwater trout boat and rig setup would be the earlier bracketed 25 contender or seavee 25 redone and with a big rhodan troller on the bow

I don't know why these aren't more popular. They don't look like something you'd want in the marsh, but they look like the ultimate coastal platforms.

There is a beautiful calcutta on THT that I would love to have. They don't come up used often.

I'd rather have the jupiter, seahunter, dorado bay versions, or a prowler/calcutta cat.

Most cat hulls can get pretty skinny if needed. Hell the 27 worldcat I owned drew less than 15” at the transom. That thing also held 240 gallons of gas and laughed at a 3’ sea. Had that hull in 30-36” of water a few times

I know they can get fairly shallow, just seems like they would be a pain to troll with the higher sides and two of them. I would think wind could mess you up.

But I could easily be wrong.

If you are fishing water big enough for a 28’ boat, why would you put a power pole on it? How many folds are in this damn power pole?

Yes definitely would be a problem on the more offshore orientated cats. The tideline and Calcutta have more bay friendly freeboards. Just seemed like every weekend I took my cat out of cocodrie we were glad to be in a higher freeboard offshore type hull. Terrebonne bay and Pelto are so wide open and rough SOB’s.

Wouldn't be too bad with an I pilot which is what you'd have on something like that

In the 26 ft. range, we are also looking at the traditional fiberglass bay boats as well. There are a bunch of them being made now. Just wasn't sure how those would compare with something like a 26 ft. American Aluminum.
