You guys are asking CCA to take on big oil, landowners and attorneys in the access issue. I got involved because of that very issue. The problem is CCA would waste a ton of time and money trying to get the politicians to do tort reform. And what rep do you think is going to try and pass legislation that doesn't allow an attorney to sue the landowner and in the same breath takes away the landowners property rights he's paying taxes on? Are you willing to give up your right to sue if you run across the marsh and hit a piling that floated in from storm and your kid flies out and breaks his neck? You'll say sure, but in real life you'll be on phone with Dudley DeBosier before he's out the hospital or God forbid in the ground.

Holy shite, I'm a trespasser/poacher too! Who knew?

I find this to rather funny and ironic at the same time. I'm not sure what the % would be, but it would surely be north of 75% of the kayak fishermen in La marsh are trespassing based on the 1812 navigability ruling. For that matter, a very large portion of the boaters (likely some of you in this thread) would be as well. Look at a map circa 1812 and launch south of Hwy 90.. you may be tresspassing.

I agree with you to some extent ST, but they would not be alone. Based on historical cases they have the backing of both the shrimp industry and crab industry, I'm certain there are others.

Shrimpers meh, crabbers for sure. This state is just too fricked up politically to expect CCA to waste that kind of money. You get your rep to sponsor the bill and send it to committee I'll get you some support from somewhere. May not be CCA, but I'll find some. Balls in your court champ.

That road he was on in the pic is gated, and i think they prohibit parking and access to the borrow pits the road surrounds.

Correct, although you do have people always climbing around the fence to fish the culvert there. But that is a private road and I have never launched or fished there.

I fish to the NE of there, off Bayou Thunder von Tranc and in the surrounding marsh and never had a problem.

Their land ends about 200 yards before you get to Bayou Laurier, which is the first bridge. Thunder Bayou is the 2nd bridge and not part of this guy's property. The times I fished his area, I had parked at the 1st bridge and just went exploring- just so happens they have great redfish ponds back there so we kept going back! Until of course we got flagged down and asked not to return. . . I'm not looking for trouble and there are plenty of other places to fish down there, so its not a big deal. Just sucks to be told where you can and cannot fish.

Excuse me for being a bit out of the loop but are lsuson and running taking about land that was once privately owned but eventually became marsh due to coastal erosion, etc?

Example being some areas along LA1 that there's a fence in the middle of the water?
