Why is he holding the fish over the edge of the boat?

That fish would be on a stringer, tied to the boat, still in the net, hook in its mouth, all shoved in the ice chest if that were me.

Didn't say anything about dominating. Just stating FACTS that CCA didn't end gill netting. What was your stance about them with the bowfishing for reds? Notice right after that stunt and many were pissed, Sam Barbara quit CCA?

GCCA did which became CCA LA. It is the same organization.

I didn't have problem a with banning bow fishing for reds. I have a friend who goes very often and always limits out with 4-6 people in the boat. The success rate for bowfishing for reds seems to be pretty high in comparison to rod n' reel.

The movement wasn't started by GCCA you dumbfrick. When it changed to CCA, a lot changed. Became a big corporate money grab out of Texas. One things I actually liked that they did recently was the tripletail regulations. Too little to late for me though. I'm not knocking anyone that wants to join that organization. IMO, they don't represent true sportsman.

so you dont have a problem banning something because it has a high success rate? have you ever been bow fishing? or are you just mad that they do well?

So you're that butt hurt over one issue? Seriously, can't we start a cca love or hate it thread instead of star threads devolving into this?

This is said about every conservation group that starts small and over time gains influence and money.

I propose you start your own association called "LSCCA: Lsuson's coastal conservation association We represent true sportsman"

I'm just wondering how you'll ever get anything accomplished w/o money.

Not mad at all.

I think since bowfishing is becoming more and more popular that it should be noted that they could have affect on the amount of fish being harvested due to the fact that bowfishermen limit more often.

Just something to think about.

Pointdog, you are right. But when an organization gets that big, its all about the money.

seems like you're holding a grudge about it. charter guides take in much more reds than bowfishing does. you must think there are less redfish or more bowfishermen than what there really is. but banning it isnt a solution.

I don't really understand how you gather that from my posts.

I'm thinking of the future of the fishery. Better to keep an eye on things early than wait until there is actual trouble.

There's a ton of reds in the marsh. Bowfishing won't put a dent in it. Changing the limit to 5 reds has done more than anything else in preserving the populations and I don't bowfish for what its worth

OK, but who got the gill net ban passed in the legislature? Not "Save our Specks".

And who got redfish declared a gamefish and the limit dropped to 5? Which is why there are tons of redfish in the marsh. Hmmmm.

What are you so mad about?
