i knew you were a trespasser Son! I knew it.

Mung, why doesn't CCA stand up for fisherman in regards to the private land-navigational waters debate??

Pulled this off of lasportmans reports page.
From LA1 to the beach (south of LA1) is private property from Bayou Laurier to Bayou Moreau in Fourchon. Just FYI there has been about 10 people warned and 5-6 arrested in the last 2 months (that I've dealt with.. i'm the property owner). So, spread the word to the fellow kayakers unless they want trespass/poaching charge to avoid the area.

That's when the fish was tagged.

I take that report from the landowner who wants people off his property with a little grain of salt.

If it's on LASM reports, there's a 90% chance it was written by someone with a 5th grade education.

Holy shite, I'm a trespasser/poacher too! Who knew? Ima start griping at CCA now.
There goes the TPH. Pretty sure Bayou Thunder von Tranc was navigable in 1812 though.

I guess I was one of the 10 people warned in the last couple months. . .
the guy in question cited liability issues as the reason for not wanting anyone fishing their property. (which ranges from LA1 south to the pipeline canal, from as far east as about 500yards from the first bridge (Bayou Laurier) and as far west as Fourchon.
Problem I had was he said he had no problem letting people fish the outside of the marsh- he just didn't want anyone in the inside marsh. TPH is on the outside and tons of people fish that area. . . if this were really about liability concerns, why just take issue with people fishing in the inside? Makes no sense.

Are they warning you when you get back to your truck? I've never been told anything, but Callouett has been really strong on the Fourchon Beach issue.
There's a gated spot with some borrow pits that seems pretty clearly posted. Maybe they are griping about that?

They were in a truck and I guess saw us paddling down the canal so they waited along the side of the road (yellow dot) until we got to them, where they warned us about fishing back there (red area)
There are no posted signs anywhere back there. The area in red is what he considers the backside of the marsh. The area to the northwest, accessible by Hwy1 and still a part of his land, is okay for people to fish though. . .
Again, he cited liability as the reasons why he didn't want people back there, but that's a poor excuse if you're going to still let people fish your property on the frontside.

you think cca good ole boy club cares to defend the average sportsman in louisiana?
they're going to side with the rich landowners every time, even if the landowner claims water that is connected to navigable waterways, and that water itself is navigable.
gotta keep those pockets lined. 200 grand salaries for secretaries and lobbyists.

Yep.

CCA didn't take a side here, so your premise is faulty.

Link? I don't think you understand the work that CCA staff does across the entire state.

That's exactly right. They didn't take a side. That's really standing up one way or another

How is that siding with wealthy landowners every time?
