Some of you down voters please explain the love for wheel guns.
I didn’t get a chance to downvote you, but revolvers are great. They’re reliable and easy to use under duress.
It may not be the best option but it’s still a decent option.

But they are not as reliable as semi-auto, and for sure are not any easier to use.
You are correct about them being a good option if you have nothing else.

Please elaborate or provide some type of evidence of this claim.

Many more moving parts in a wheel gun. It is common knowledge in the shooting world.

I hope you are trolling.

Haven’t had a .380 in years, looking to buy one for a truck gun.
You can spend a little more and get a 9mm. A .380 should be your gun of last resort not a go too. I have a G42 that I love but it’s a backup to my backup. Just my .10.

Especially if he’s looking at a Ruger LCP Max. Might as well get the Ruger Max 9. The size difference between them is negligible.

A double action revolver CAN malfunction. I’ve never seen one malfunction, neither have I heard a first hand story of one malfunctioning. But we all know it’s possible.
I have shot semi autos that have jammed. Stove piped. Failed to feed. Whatever. Quality does matter, though. A good quality auto with good ammo? Yeah probably won’t have any problems.
Shoot what you like. A revolver is in no way handicapped for the first 5-6 shots.

If you’re looking for one strictly for your truck, get a full sized pistol. Way easier to shoot than a compact/subcompact. Also, recoil between .380 and 9mm is negligible but ballistics for 9mm are way better.

That's what this place does to us. Just like the VP9 thread last week got some folks I'm sure with the great price

If it's a truck gun why not go with 9mm?

At the moment I have a Glock 19 and some crappy 380 and a S&W Hammerless Airweight revolver that actually has been getting most of my carry time lately because it disappears in my beltline and I don't feel it. Weighs nothing. Laser grip that I'd probably never think to use.
That said I'm going to buy a Sig p365 X Macro and call it done.
But at the end of the day it's about what you've got in your pants. Like most things.

Sig makes a 365 .380 now. No need to think any harder than that. It's the easy button.

just a question for you, will you carry this in your pocket when you leave your truck or is this strictly a gun that you will keep in your truck?
reason I'm asking is why do you want a micro to keep in your truck unless you plan of carrying it with you?
I have the same question. About 1/2 the posts here del w/ the 380 as a "pocket gun." that's vastly different from the 380 as a truck gun. Which is it going to be??

Anyone have the S&W Bodyguard 2.0? I'd like to add it as a backup but see lots of complaints of fail to feed due to a lip on the pre-ramp. Is polishing the ramp a cure?
Never had a 380 before. Defense ammo recommendations? I use Gold Dots & HSTs for other calibers, figure 380 would be more of the same.

I have owned several .380's.
The S&W Bodyguard has many bells and whistles, but has a long, stiff trigger pull that makes it difficult to shoot with any degree of accuracy. I sold this gun years ago because I couldn't shoot it responsibly. A very snappy gun.
The Walther PPK is the best of the best if you want a .380. Its a very smooth German made gun that is popular as "The James Bond Gun". Cycles like butter. Looks like a sports car. Performs flawlessly.
The Bersa is a less expensive knock off of the Walther PPK. If you see them side by side you would think they are the same gun, but the looks is where the comparison ends. I have seen and heard bad things about Bersa. I have no desire to own one.
I am not a fan of the LCP. Very small. Very snappy. Like the S&W Bodyguard, the trigger is a nightmare. I would not own this gun.
The Glock 42 is the gun I carry in my car at all times. I extended the mags to increase capacity. For being small, it still shoots like a dream and has the Glock trigger. This is a great choice if you have to have a .380.
From my experience in owning and shooting these guns, the Glock and the PPK are the only 2 I would consider purchasing to own. I don't think you can go wrong with either.
Good luck with your choice.

Go with the Canik SC Elite. It’s small enough to carry, large enough to shoot great.
