For those shooting this caliber, what are you paying for it?

Saw 20 rnd Hornady boxes in both Academy and LGS today. Hunting rounds, both subsonic 205gr and supersonic 115gr. $28.95/box

I've heard that it was going for @ $1/rnd before the craze (hunting rounds) so is this whack out of line or just par for the current course?

FWIW this was 300 Whisper

Before all this started,

$11.99 for UMC
$13.99 for Barnes BTs, forget what brand
$20 for 208 Amax.

I havent bought a single 300BLK bullet since the shite hit the fan.

If you want to be able to shoot reasonable, start to reload. I am almost fully setup to reload myself. Gonna get fun soon.

Well, let me see if I remember how to do this...

Morning, I have seen some primers at LA Gun but I haven't even looked for powder yet.

Bought some Remington AccuTip 125 gr. at Bowies a couple weeks ago $37.99/20. I picked up some 115 gr. target ammo at Jim's when I bought my rifle a couple months ago for $15.99/20.

It's much harder to find than 223. In fact, I can hardly find any at all.

They were the only people in town who had any. And they were limiting purchases to (2) boxes per person. I really didn't want to spend that much, but we are heading to Houston this weekend to try and kill some hogs. I wanted something a little better than target ammo.

Just bought the gun a couple months ago. It's a Daniel Defense, and I topped it with an E O Tech. I love it so far, cool caliber. Hopefully I wil be able to put it to work this weekend.

I got abuncha the Barnes Vor-tx pre shtf for a good price, but since then the only stuff i've scored for plinking has been from this site. That bulk box of 200 rounds is $0.75 a round, they come in stock periodically.

ICS,
Buy those primers NOW! For the most part, primers have been nearly impossible to find. What powder are you planning on using? Do you already have some brass?

I have lots of .223 brass. I am going to use either Hogdon H10 or Lilgun, depending on supersonic of subsonic. I will grab some primers next time I am over there. .308 bullets are hard to find but not impossible. I want to get some of the new Wolf Match primers but all LA Gun had was CCI small caliber, which is fine.

Yall are paying stupid high prices for 300BLK ammo. I understand needing hunting ammo but damn. Start reloading or just wait. Bowies did have some 208 Amax for $30 last time I was there, if yall need it.

If you can find some 221 Fireball brass you won't have to do so much work on the brass. You might contact JD Jones at LINK He "invented" the 300 Whisper so usually has some brass for it on hand. Hodgdon 4227 loads are much more accurate in my gun than are H110 loads. 'Lil Gun had not yet been "invented" when I was doing load development on my barrel. All my loads are supersonic. I bet you'll really enjoy your barrel!

I already have lots of 223 brass and am going to pick up a mini chopsaw from Harbor Freight to do the grunt work. I haven't fully decided on powder yet but I'll take a look at what you're using.

I didn't just buy the barrel, I got a full Daniel Defense 300 AR. Granted, it's just a barrel swap but still. I am growing impatient on finding a pistol lower too. I am about to just form 1 my DD lower and get a 8" AAC upper.

For $20 it is by far the best option to cut down 223 brass. Unless you were referring to it being out of your price range, then I understand your struggle.

Has anyone had any luck finding 300 ammo that's not ridiculously over priced?

LINK

PNW Arms has had 155Gr match available twice in the last 2 weeks. You can create an account and sign up for in stock notification. Great ammo. I paid 26.99 a box today plus shipping. As far as I know the only limit is your CC limit.
