The only thing I really miss about getting rid of cable is hearkand bow hunter. Very well done show.

It's hard to truly shoot back tension with an index finger fired release, but not impossible. I developed target panic after many years of shooting that style. Shot a thumb activated, it helped, but my mind soon realized that it could control when that went off as well. If you want a true surprise, you'll probably want a hinge style or a true back tension release. That's what I use now, a carter evolution. The nock-on silverback is the same in a two finger version. It has a thumb safety on it that allows you to draw, once drawn you let off the safety and it will fire once you've reached a certain poundage against the wall. Mine is set to break at about 18 lbs for a 71 lb draw. It's the only thing that has helped my target panic. I say helped because I think it's like alcoholism-you're always an alcoholic - you just don't drink anymore.

One thing I really like about those life lines is they light up like a sting of LED lights when you hit them with a flashlight. Makes it very easy to find your stand in heavy timber or unfamiliar areas.

Only 2 more days for most of MS. I've already got most of my stuff packed.

I haven’t heard much yet. It was 95 degrees and he passed a 140 earlier in the hunt.

Wow. I would have been back at the camp drinking beer and celebrating my 140.

Not if you know a 200 incher is on camera in the area and think you have a chance at him

Opens Saturday in MS. Daughter and I will be in our lock-ons saturday afternoon in the heat. She has a friend at school who hasn't killed one with a bow either and they are trying to do it before the other does.

This is my thinking. I have not killed a big enough archery buck to pass up a 140, regardless of what has been spotted on camera.

It's called patience.

Now he has a 200 deer going on the wall and a good chance at the 140 being a 155-160 next year.
