Sightfishing reds isn't as hard as some people make it seem. The hard part in a kayak is finding them. Once you find them, they'll typically bite anything that swims close enough to piss them off. Bright colors help you see when the fish bites. That being said, my favorite baits are just straight swimming a plastic, inline spinners with plastics, topwaters, and spoons in that order. Seeing reds blow up a top dog or a spook is pretty awesome, but sometimes they just don't want them. Regular spinners with plastic work fine too...I've just always had better luck with inline spinners. Regular spinners are nice with weighted shafts because you can rig them weedless through the body.

Sounds like that "seein spots" inline spinner that I have should work well.

Im just going to bring some cash so I can buy the good baits from you salt lifers.

Y'all be careful out there. I watched an idiot who didn't know how to trim his ski boat almost hit a man in a fishing rigged Canoe Sunday afternoon on the Pelahatchie side of Ross barnett Rez..
probably missed him by 4 feet and that's generous.

Thanks for the heads up.

I usually dont have to watch for boats at the spots I fish, so I will remember to be on guard.
