No 1911 yet so I’ve got nothing to contribute, but, I want to get a nice one that shoots good and will mainly stay in the safe or on the range, not to carry around and beat up. Looking at a Dan Wesson Specialist, any thoughts on it or something else below the $2k price point that’s out there.

Not a 1911, but found this puppy in a pawn shop the other day. Don't think a single round has been shot with it. To good of a deal to pass up. 1911 next on my list to get.
