Ended up having a little spike come through about 9:15...other than that, it was very slow.

Had a cluster this morning with the largest 8 pt I’ve ever seen on the hoof.

Needless to say, mistakes may have beeen made. lil foot was in the shooting seat. Deer popped out about 250 yds, walked right at us till about 175 out. Just hung up. He turned to leave and got back to where he came out, turned broadside. I had grabbed my gun and tried to snap one off. Ill advised shot. Completely missed. Had just made him pass on a doe cause she wouldn’t get right then I panic and shot when I should’ve let him go.

Searched for over an hour. No sign of a hit deer. Got lucky with s Clean miss.

He was a huge bastard

Dang man. Been there.

The buck I saw going into my camp this morning was the biggest I've seen in a loooong time. I knew my hunt was doomed at that point lol

There was a thread on a similar situation not long ago.

The consensus was let the kid take the shot.

Going bust that bucks arse in the morning if I don’t kill a good one today.

Kids can usually shoot their asses off in my experience. Those young eyes help a lot. Especially girls.

Was planning on sitting on the low fenced property this afternoon but that stand was loaded up with yellow jackets when I got there. The closest stand was the one I was in last night without much action, but I’m here anyway sweating my arse off. The ice cold miller lites are helping though.

Been in a stand since Thursday and all I’ve seen is a bobcat on the first night. He won’t be so lucky if he comes back out tonight.

Ended up with a doe for the freezer. I always feel good when they drop in their tracks.

Shot a doe tonight 20 minutes before dark, dropped her in her tracks. First deer I’ve seen, been at the lease since Thanksgiving.
