Was 40 when I left
Heavy fog. Just getting to where I can see past 50 yards
Saw a possible shooter 2 days ago in the fog from this same stand. Hope he shows again

St. Martin Parish
Loc on overlooking the flooded woods
50 degrees, calm, light fog
H&R 444
Heard a deer behind me in the water before daylight, and just after first light shot a mature 8 pt. Back in stand waiting on my buddy to shoot and see what else comes out.

Pic? I’d like to see what a mature buck looks like. My neighbors obviously despise them and refuse to let a deer reach that point.

There is no better sound in the outdoors than hearing a deer in the water.

No kidding. We are so underwater now that we can't hunt, but Saturday was fun sitting on one of the few dry spots. Deer running around sounded like a herd of buffalo.

Never understood my dad saying this (I always enjoyed hearing the leaves crunch) until I started hunting in the swamp this year. So cool

Hunting in the edge of a creek. Other side is real thick. Had a buck come through chasing a doe on that side. Could hear him grunting and them running around but never got a look.

Just that makes a hunt very rewarding but also heartbreaking

Saw the weather forecast for our property on Saturday. There is a 80% chance of rain. I claim that it will be cloudy and cold.
