I am wondering if the water and beaches will be hit by then and are they shipping in seafood from other places? I don't want to have to cancel but I don't want to swim in oil either.

Plenty of media down there waiting like rabid dogs for the first drop of oil to hit the beach.

I am willing to bet you won't see any signs of oil in Gulf Shores next week. I work for NOAA and have been doing plenty of flights and its not that close to shore in that area.

Fwiw. I just took a walk down the beach here in Santa Rosa beach although that is much farther east. It is beautiful here. They have a steady north wind blowing as well if that means anything. Goodluck!
