After they could flip the BOP shut and maybe even before that the well was scrapped. BP did things to contain the oil in the order of risk. There was no conspiracy to save the well. The negative PR and money they will lose is WAY larger than any money they were getting from the well.

Please sticky this thread. Every day someone that is all worked up from reading BS in the liberal press comes on here crying because about BP trying to save this well to make money.
Maybe a sticky will at least slow the drivel down.

Kind of off topic but I was watching Nat Geo and they were speculating that they should have just let the rig burn. Forgot who it was but he said that the water from the firehouses sank the rig causing the pipe to collapse.

Even if they had let the rig burn it would have drifted off site and broken the riser.
If they had not sprayed water on it the heat would have caused structural failure.

just asking because I have no clue, would the pipe be laying on the floor of the ocean still or would it have broken higher up?

Just save it for later today to re-post. There will be another clueless person show up and claim-
That BP is trying to save the well so they can still make money.
That BP was worrying about skimming and sucking up the oil and not capping the well
That BP should be taken over by the gov.
That they Navy should send in their superduper high tech fleet of oil well capping and oil recover ships.

Yea the rig would have sunk sooner or later. The metal couldn't have survived that heat forever.

I have a very reliable source that tells me that the space ship that crashed in the desert and is now housed in Area 51 was actually an advanced oil containment space ship specially equipped for deep water drilling.

... just sayin'.

It's based on a Harry Stamper patent.

And we're saving it for when we "really" need it just like the rant says LM is saving the secret playbook for when he really needs it.

I'm expecting them to bring it out any day now because according to several people on the internets and call in radio, the feds would have stopped this leak long ago if the oil was washing up on the Florida coast.
