AK or M16?
Posted on 8/9/26 at 4:18 am to travelgamer
M16 for several reasons
I have put infinitely more rounds through a select-fire M16 than any variation of an automatic AK. I can field strip and reassemble an M16 blindfolded and know a lot more about smithing an M16.
I think there is much more 5.56 to scrounge in the US than any AK caliber. A zombie apocalypse is not going to be over in a few weeks.
Rack grade for rack grade the M16 is going to be statistically more accurate and I want melon shots at the longest standoff possible.
It simply comes down to comfort and familiarity for me, which are by far the most important factors with similar weapons.

But the AK you can wipe the mud off and still use, the M16 requires much more care.

I’m going with killdozer. Final answer.

Mil-spec AR platform, but I only have about a weeks worth of ammo at walking dead rate of fire. I know. Rookie numbers. Maybe 2 if you throw pistol calibers in the mix.

Are we talking Walking Dead zombies or World War Z zombies?
WD zombies - doesn't matter; just about any weapon will do
WWZ zomibes - doesn't matter; we're all gonna die

I do BJJ, lift weights, AND have above avg cardio…will that be enough to fight off the zombies?

AR. AK is durable, but there is so much ammo and so many people with ARs across the country to salvage ammo and parts as needed. That's why Glock and S&W are the go to handgun brands.

You are way behind on this topic. The great zombie manifesto has already been done. It was one of the most epic threads on this board.

This is correc but a .22 is underrated in this situation
