The tropical storm watch has been extended even further inland, and now includes Birmingham and up into east/northeast Alabama:

I hope for everyone’s sake this is going to be a nothingburger. A hurricane is projected to make landfall a little more than 24 hours from now and hardly anyone posting about it in here

Just wait until about 6pm when everyone gets home from work and has time to see/read for themselves.

Can't decide if the track nudged west or if the cone just narrowed.

EDIT: Should've read the discussion.

The official track forecast was nudged just slightly westward in 24 to 36 hours to be in better agreement with the latest GFS and ECMWF explicit model fields.

Yeah, guess they're hoping the storm dissipates in the few hours of delaying an announcement one way or the other

True, this thing could be a corona spreading, trans or cisgender Greek names hurricane and people are just burned the hell out. I am waiting on locusts.

Was just coming to note the nudge west. Not much of one but raises the wind prospects in New Orleans.

Storm currently does look a little tilted but I think it'll get realigned pretty quickly tonight as it is not that offset. So we're watching for signs of increasing organization tonight, which looks like might already be slowly starting now. The window for strengthening is closing, probably got a good 18 hours left to do anything. Any time burned on organization is good by me.

However, then you think about the things others are going through, Stout and the TD members in SWLA, Owlvis, fishfighter and many others, makes us all grateful to be on the sunny side of the topsoil.

Oh, and yes Peej and whatever calamity he has invented this week.
