At this point I'm expecting a Christmas Day hurricane here in South La.

It wasn’t a catastrophe but it caught a lot of people with their pants down. It was a cluster frick around here for a week.

Looks pretty shitty on satellite. Did the Yucatán do more damage to her than expected?

So just looking at that chart it doesn't appear this will be that horrible for New Orleans? Or am I reading that wrong?

Not horrible, but don't let your guard town. I'm sure that information is based on the current NHC track. We'll see what changes if this thing takes a little slide to the west. Some of the models had it trending on the western half of the cone. We're at the point now where a 30 mile shift will make a big difference in wind.

It's a combination of nola people not posting and getting prepared for storm, coupled with not filling the thread with wishcasting

The HWRF has been the most accurate this year so not sure why you’re rolling your eyes

I know right, all educated successful professionals and business owners with families too. Really makes you wonder how little informed the masses are

hype train is def down for sure. I think it will pick up later in the day when school closures etc roll in.

Storm fatigue mixed in with the time of the year is playing a roll here for sure.

All of these models keep it coming over our area and I keep thinking about all of the TS/Cat 1's that brought a ton of down trees and 24 hours or so without power. I don't think many people are prepared for that.

The 6 or so times we were in the cone this year then it goes left or right got them very complacent.
