Don’t worry, it’s coming today. It’s also going to affect a much smaller area than most storms. I wouldn’t expect any cancellations from Baton Rouge on west. Mostly just Orleans metro to SW Mississippi.

I believe they’re called super storms. Or maybe that’s only if it hits important people in the northeast.

I just went to Langensteins in Old Metairie and I was one of four customers in the store.

You’re not entirely wrong, I guess. If the front stalls or comes in slower than expected, as discussed last night, a slide west and BR could be in play. Who really knows

Mister TheFonz. I have been searching the NWS site for those wind graphs like you put up.

I am trying to find one for Houma/Raceland. Could you please post one and tell me where to find it?

Much appreciation to you and the rest.

BR has a deflector shield that pushes storms left or right. It’s uncanny.

If this thing comes over BR, 1 million people would be caught off guard.

When you punch in your zip code and get to the forecast page, click on "hourly weather forecast" under More Information. The chart is there. NWS

They are from The National Weather Service. Put in your city, then scroll down and look on the right side of the page (if on a PC) to find the charts.

Thanks Fonz and Sasquatch. The NWS site is like going into the Library of Congress. Lots and lots of stuff to peruse.

If a category 1 hurricane landfalls in Terrebonne and moves into NOLA quickly, Raceland would have sustained wind closer to 60 with gusts to close to 80 or 90 I bet.

That is what I am interpreting.

Just enough to strip the trees of all the leaves and make a big fricking mess.

I am debating on whether to start picking oranges or see if they fall.

Not entirely correct, BR has been warned of the apocalypse for months. They have ramped up and down so many times, they are like a B52 flight crew on nuclear standby.

It started with the covid stuff back in March. BR has been on alert for like 7 months.

Toilet paper and bread were the first to go.
