i had the john deere z235 and I loved that thing. it would be perfect for just around an acre

Out of those I would personally go with a Husqvarna. But if you have a dealer in town that sells X-Mark I would take a look at those.

X-mark and Toro are actually made by the same people but the X-mark is a better mower.

The national standard of blade rotation is I think around 19,000rpm and the x-mark is the leader at around 18,500 rpm so you get a better cut. I think the Husqvarna falls in around 16-17K rpm.


They also make a good home line called the Quest which sells for around $3k. My dad just bought one and it's nice.


eta - my boss has two Husqvarna zero turns. One is a 48 inch welded deck and the other is I think around a 60 inch. He loves his.

My best friend has an X-mark Pioneer with a 48 inch welded deck and I use it to cut my grass (don't feel like using my crappy Cub Cadet push mower). Like I said above, my dad just bought an X-mark Quest and I think it's around 42 inch deck but it's stamped. So far he loves it.

Another buddy of mine used to have all X-mark mowers when he had his lawn care business and they were all solid mowers.

All in all, I personally think you can't go wrong with an X-mark or a Husqvarna.

Just be careful when buying one because you may end up getting what you pay for.

I would go to a dealer to buy something rather than purchasing one from say a Home Depot or Lowes. Everything there is always lower quality than what you get from a small dealer.
