At interest rates what they are, I’d rather have $90k just sitting in the bank than depreciating like a new vehicle does. Sure, it’s not like making money in the market, but minus inflation, you’ll still have $90k and more importantly, you’re liquid if you need the money for something else.
Exactly.

Now explain to me how that sounds like a good investment... "
Neither of the vehicles the OP mentioned are "investments" at all.

Seriously...I pay cash for my vehicles also...but if you are dropping 100k cash on a new vehicle you should step back for a moment...
Look at various cpo and pay cash...I buy cpo Audis and you get very good warranties (other luxury vehicles do the same) ....also when you buy cpo they usually take a high hit on the trim style..
Btw I would not buy either of those vehicles...

Not financing. Paying cash.
You're paying 100k cash for a vehicle?
Good for you, man.

Navigator is head and shoulders above any GM product.
Well, that's just not true isn't it?
General Motors has 60%+ market share in that segment.

From what I've seen the Lincoln/Ford offerings are twin turbo v6 only.
Tahoe/Yukon offerings have 2 different V8's available which (IMO) would be hard to beat for longevity.
The Lincolns are really nice.
But if one is able to "wire" or write a check for $100k SUV they can also afford to say "frick it" and try something else if it sucks.

GM trucks don't use timing belts like the Fords sometimes have.

The 6.2 GM V-8 is the best combination of power and reliability on the US market. It is simply a wonderful engine that is more importantly time tested and proven. It is well within its limits and not some hopped up twin turboed four or six banger struggling to produce 400 horsepower. A 6.2 with the same amount of gimmicks the Ford engines have would be producing 800 horse power at least. My wife’s Escalade gets in the low 20s going down the highway. The smaller Ford engines will get better gas mileage. But honestly, if fuel efficiency is a real concern, you don’t need a car that costs at least $80k.

It’s an awesome engine. But I really like the new 6.6L Gas V8.

Honestly, the high country has just about everything you’d want in the vehicle for about 10-20k less depending on vehicle.
The styling of the new Suburban is better than the Yukon XL in my opinion. But I like them both.

The new Ford 3.0L powerstroke has a timing belt that needs replacement every 75,000 miles. But most owners have to get the crankshaft and crankshaft bearings repaired/replaced well before that, given the sad history of that terrible engine with JLR and Ford.

We just traded an Explorer Sport for a Cadillac Xt6. The Ford cost us 5K the 5 year we owned it. All out of warranty with low miles. The computer, rack and pinion and airbag wiring harnesses all had to be changed.
I will never own another Ford as long as I live. I know you are talking about a Lincoln. I assume it is the same from a quality standpoint.

Lulz. Look at the Dave Ramsey idiot. They finance these things at below market rates for anyone with remotely good credit. Only a moron pays nearly six figures cash when they’ll give you nearly free lines of credit during a time when returns on capital are soaring.

I absolutely love mine. Financed for 120 months at $950 a month.
The dealership even threw in a 30-A sticker
Did you buy that to drive my husband and kids around in?
You animal!
