I bought an HD antenna and have Netflix. I have gave up on paying for sports. I will listen to the AU game on radio and watch highlights.

Not as bad as it seems. I will get CBS games, and the adjustment was easy.

Add one more. I’m moving at the end of the month and planned on keeping the service but I’m gonna try to live without it and just use my HD antennae in Houston. Football is cancelled anyway. I’m calling tomorrow and calling after this month and blaming it solely on the price increase.

Who the hell wants MTB and BET? I’m middle aged, straight, and white.

No thanks.

South Park alone makes it worth the hike for me. Add in some classic cartoons on Nick and I’m pretty happy with the adds. All I have is Netflix and Youtube TV. Trade my Netflix for Hulu with a friend and that’s all I need.

Cable will also add additional rebroadcast and Sports fees which have climbed to more than $20 month. They can also raise the price of leases equipment without your approval.

With no sports, I don’t see much reason to have them. I watch Netflix and HBO and local channels mainly. I think I can manage until sports are back without this. What a shite hike. 10 wouldn’t be awful but 15 is crap for awful channels.

If someone would come out with a true a la carte live TV service, they'd make a killing. Let someone pick their own package of exactly which channels they want with none of the ones they don't. There's about 12-15 channels I'd want and that's it.

Spectrum is trying to do this in some markets starting at 25 bucks for 10 channels with ESPN available. Of course DVR is an add-on as well as other things and you must have internet access with them

Iv'e been rolling with Philo for a few months now. No sports which obviously doesn't matter right now but has pretty much every other channel I would want @ 20/mo. Good interface and stable, never buffers.

It’s like a girl getting out of a decade long abusive relationship and finding a stand up guy who takes care of her....and then one day that guy forgets their anniversary and she starts remembering all the good times with the abusive ex and planning to run back to him

Exactly. Their equipment is stone age. Technical help sucks. Would black out local channels randomly just because. They blacked out the first round of the NFL playoffs a couple years ago.

Cost $5/month per extra genie (that’s probably 10 years old and been through 5 families).

They aren’t even investing in satellite improvements and will be going to stream any year now.

But hey let’s all go back because YouTube raised their price $15

To me the complaint should end here

People in this thread: The price is higher so I’m cancelling TONIGHT!!!

People with cable: the price is higher so I’m cancelling when my contract ends in 6-12 months!!!

Cable prices are locked in with the contract. When you price goes up, you can cancel right then or get them to lower it and lock it in again.

Can you call YouTube to get them to lower your new bill?

Oh yay an opportunity to haggle for another contract that locks me in to a price for another year

No but I can cancel and instantly go to a competitor without issue or haggling or switching out any hardware.

Depending on where you live, you might not even be able to call another cable company when your current provider charges more than you want to pay.

That once every 2 year task is too tall, but bouncing around providers of 50 channels for $50/month is cool.

But you can always pay $1+/channel/month whenever you want.

What about when your ISP raises rates after your contract? You bouncing around those too, or do you go through the torture of haggling? How's cricket mobile working out for you?
