These videos are making this look so possible. I feel like the little engine that could as my wife (no pics), mom (no pics), and others (no pics) mock me for even thinking cutting my own hair (no pics).

Has anyone else tried it? If so, pics?

good thing is, if you frick up, it won't be worse than going without haircut for another 4 weeks.

there's one out there where a news chick showed her cutting her own hair not realizing you could see her naked husband in the shower behind her.

What's the worst that can happen? You f it up and have to shave your head? If you are ok with that and she is, then go for it.

Just trim sideburns and around ears, and let it roll.

Even once barber shops open up, they will be slammed and booked up for a month straight.

I can cut my own hair but I've been doing it for years. I used to buzz my hair all the way down from time to time anyway, so I didn't have any worry of messing up. That's how I taught myself.

My suggestion would be to not do a short fade since you're a beginner.

If you use the longer guards, it's much easier to blend the line. You don't even really see a line if you're going from like a 6 to a 5, for example. So it's foolproof.

Just get someone to line up the back of your neck area.

LA Beast put up DIY bowl cut video the other day replicating his 2nd grade haircut. Nailed it and looked easy to pull off. Might be a hot new trend for summer 2020.

This is probably why I am getting mocked. It's not even long to normal standards, but I want to do the 0 guard then fade in and my mom is telling me I'll be a mushroom regardless of effort. If they don't open up Ohio May 1st, I might roll down to Georgia in the middle of the night and find the first place open.

Doing basically a skin fade will not be easy for a beginner. At the very least you would want the line around your head to be straight. Even that takes some practice. Then actually doing the fade takes some practice and patience too. You have to have good clipper control in order to blend the line without going too high.

It's very possible you'll be a mushroom head your first time trying.

If you notice, most of those people on Youtube are like "let me show you how to cut your own hair".. and then they'll casually mention in the video "yeah, I've been cutting my own hair for 10 years now". They never show you how to cut your own hair after their first few attempts. They have years of experience doing it. Or they are barbers themselves.

I think you can cut your own hair, but I wouldn't do a zero fade your first time.
